Kevin Grissom and the Country Cookin' Band just about filled up the Music Ranch theater with their first show Saturday July 21. And the parking lots were full. The band and the sound were flawless.
Not everything was perfect -- a first night never is. The ticket window lines -- and the wait -- were too long. And yes, we really ran out of food in the Chow Hall Restaurant. Both problems will be corrected for the show July 28.
Meanwhile, Grissom's managers Henry and Barbara Barnes and Music Ranch Inc.'s Rube Yelvington carried the message of the changes in West Point at a business fair "up the road (Dixie Hwy) Tuesday July 24 in Pleasant Ridge Park. Our literature included a picture of the long ticket window line last Saturday.
Stockholder volunteers at Music Ranch have been sprucing the place up a bit mowing, cleaning and planting in flower beds, and painting a bit. Re-painting the floor in the Chow Hall main dining room and refreshing the other rooms was included. The measure of the new Music Ranch awaits the crowd next Saturday.
