Music Ranch Inc. welcomes the crowds to Kevin Grissom's Music Ranch USA theater to hear Kevin, his country Cookin Band, and more guests that we ever utilized. The new arrangement is bringing our previous "regulars" great shows and a stage packed full of quality performers.
Many familiar faces from years back are in the theater each Saturday, and hundreds of new faces. We are privileged to serve all at our concession stand, operated by Vernon Curl as always, and in our Chow Hall, operated by Nancy Yelvington, cook Vicky and the familiar volunteer attendants from our ranks of stockholders and loyal fans.
We have made a few improvements and are better prepared for our Chow Hall guests -- we peel 25 pounds of "real potatoes" now instead of 10 or 15. We slow roast a 15 pound beef roast every week, and keep another already roasted in the freezer, "just in case." The back rooms are freshened for possible use -- they were used at Grissom's first show. The dining room floor boasts a new coat of paint, the window frames have been painted. New table cloths are coming.
We continue our food pattern with two options for plated meals. One is a fork-tender slow roasted beef served as an open faced sandwich with real mashed potatoes and unforgettable gravy, and a second vegetable.
Aug. 4 the second meat choice will be Vicky's excellent meat loaf. It is equally popular. Nancy has added BLTs to the menu, as long as our vine-ripened tomatoes hold out.
It hasn't happened just yet, but our 922-9393 phone number is destined to be discontinued. Kevin has a toll-free number for show matters 1-800-518-6779. You can reach Nancy or me at 324-0075, a Louisville number. (We have nothing to do with reservations.) Our Ranch toll-free number 913-9393 was discontinued two weeks ago, but seems to be working anyway. That won't last long.
Kevin is assigning permanent seats to those who plan to be every-week guests; open seating for all others. Details are developing.
You will find Kevin and his band members the friendliest fellows you ever saw.
(Well, as friendly. Hard to friendlier than our former Indiana Hardcore band. But there are more members in Kevin's band.)
Speak first and you will make new acquaintances in your seating row, at the concession stand and in the Chow Hall. We think you will come to agree that while we suffered some painful separations, that the best qualities of Music Ranch, including friendliness, is being preserved and out partnering with Kevin Grissom and the Country Cookin Band holds a promising future for all.
