Chow Hall plans luau Sept. 27

Chow Hall diners will discover smell-good pineapple and coconut food odors as they wrap up the extended summer season with a Hawaiian Luau night Sept. 27.

Diners will be offered leis and an opportunity to wear those Hawaiian shirts that have been hanging in the closets, and to listen to some Hawaiian CDs while they enjoy their dinners or sandwiches and desserts.

The Chow Hall begins serving at 5 p.m. and stops at 7 -- in time for the volunteer table servers to get to the great Kevin Grissom show at 7:30.

It also will be a night contributing to the dollars for gasoline drawing at midshow Sept. 27 in the theater. Diners get a chance ticket for each dollar spent in the Chow Hall each Sept. night through Sept. 27. The winner receives $50 toward his gasoline bill -- or wherever he needs $50 the most.
